What better way to celebrate the first night of the 10th Inter-Luzon Sportsfest than rock'n roll. A decade of oneness and camaraderie should be celebrated not only with a toast, but with a bang.
The grand opening of the event held on March 2, 2020, was followed by a Rock-rakan Welcome Party at the City of Ilagan, Community Center.
The party commenced with a doxology led by the Commission on Audit Region 02 Talents. It was followed by a welcome remarks by Mr. Jay Eveson C. Diaz, City Councilor of the City of Ilagan, Isabela. He felt honoured that the City of Ilagan was chosen as the venue for the 10th Inter-Regional Sportsfest for Luzon.
To jumpstart the night, the Power Voice of the City of Ilagan performed a special number that wowed the crowd.
The night became even more exciting when Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc gave his message and announced that he and Chairperson Michael G. Aguinaldo have prepared secret numbers.
Chairperson Mike, in his message, echoed that he had never seen a local government unit as supportive and hospitable as the City of Ilagan, Isabela. He encouraged everyone to eat, be merry, and have fun before the games begin.
After the message of Chairperson Mike, everyone was in party mood. The night became a mini-concert. A variety of music was performed, rock – which has strong and loud beats, jazz – which boasts a unique combination of creativity, coactions and interactivity, and rhythm and blues – which is a combination of hip hop, funk, dance and pop.
Indeed music is a genuine expression of emotion - for the participants, it was joy and excitement for what is in store for the following days.
Assistant Regional Director Bismarck R. Turingan gave his closing remarks and thanked the Chairperson and the participants from the different Regions for their unending support for the activity.
Ms. Nadja Lyn A. Camacam and Engr. Warner T. Alvarez were the night’s masters of ceremony.
